Video stop watch
As you watch a video, the keys you press are recorded,
together with both times: the time of day,
and the elapsed time from the video.
- video. Drag in videos from the finder
(or the desktop).
- keys. Beware of those keys intercepted
by the Mac environment or this app's menu.
Mostly, the ⌘ key is involved.
Beyond that, three keys get special handling:
- left. stop, frame back
- right. stop, frame ahead
- space. stop if playing; play if stopped
- recorded. The record can be viewed in
the text tab. It's editable.
- time of day. This may be of use in
the case where your attention in on
some live event rather than the video.
- elapsed time. When the clock used
is the video's, then you can play at
speeds other than x1.00, and pause and
resume, without bookkeeping.
Play speed
The selector is obeyed if you start play with
the space key.
Mark
Imagine that you interpret a moment in time
according to what happened just before.
- find that time
- set the mark
- step back — ◀
- make your decision
- go back to the mark — ●
- press the key

Editing
Think ahead to how you will work up the
data you collect with this app.
One rule you could follow is
that notes to yourself are set between
octothorpe (#) and end-of-line.
(It would then follow that octothorpe
is not a good coding key.)
Here is a sample record.

Saving
The text record is saved automatically
(when a video is dragged in,
when Clear is clicked,
when the app is closed).
To see the folder where the files are written,
click Files.
Save Checkpoint is for the worriers.
To "park" a coding job, click Another.
You'll get a new window in which to do other work.
Resize
This button will resize the window,
alternately quite large or quite small.
Audio
Audio files are loadable; beware the small drop zone
when you do the following load.
